Have you ever seen crabs in a bucket?
If one tries to climb out and escape, the others will pull it back down. This is where we get the term “crab mentality.” It’s a way to describe how some people act in groups. They don’t like it when someone else is doing better or trying to improve their life. Instead of cheering them on, they try to stop them. It’s like they’re saying, “If I can’t have it, neither can you.”
Why Do People Act Like Crabs?
Crab mentality comes from feeling jealous, insecure, or too competitive. Imagine you’re doing well at work, but instead of your coworkers being happy for you, they start gossiping or making things hard for you. That’s crab mentality in action. It can happen anywhere: at work, in your neighborhood, or even in your family.
